People are asking me for our India trip schedule so they can pray with us and for us as we go. Okay, only one person actually asked for this... but you never know! There may be several faithful prayers warriors out there just wondering when I am going to post this information to my blog.
You can read about the purpose for the trip by scrolling down a few posts. Because this trip is so long I am only posting an abbreviated schedule. Here we go:
Monday, Feb 16: Depart from the Church office 8:30 am
Thursday, Feb 19: Arrive in Imphal, Manipur, India at 12:00 noon. There is no typo in the first part of this schedule. We really will be traveling for 2 days, 16 hours just to reach our destination!
Friday, Feb 20: First day out in the field. Surgeries and medical clinics at the hospital in Kanglatongbi, about 1 hour from Imphal
Saturday, Feb 21: More clinics, surgery, patient follow-up.
Sunday, Feb 22: Worship with our Nepali brothers and sisters in the church at Kalapahar. Even though we are in India, we work with a group that is ethnically Nepali and speaks Nepali as their primary language.
After church we'll enjoy a delicious meal with our Nepali hosts, Deepak and Dinah Bardewa, and visit an orphanage they helped create called Mercy Children's Home. The medical team will do well-checks on all the kids, then they will load up and travel north for 2 hours to Mao, Manipur. Rob will stay behind in Imphal.
Monday, Feb 23 - Wednesday, Feb 25: The medical team will do training, seminars, surgeries and clinics in Mao as part of their partnership with Dr. Lorho Pfoze and InTouch Medical Ministries
Rob will remain in Imphal and conduct a 2 1/2 day training seminar for Nepali Pastors and Church leaders. On Wednesday afternoon he'll travel to Mao and join the medical team.
Thursday, Feb 26: Presentation from Dr. Lorho regarding his ministry and our partnership, then back to Imphal for our last night in Manipur.
Friday, Feb 27: Travel day. Sightseeing in Calcutta.
Saturday, Feb 28: Day off in Singapore. Time to rest, reflect, and prepare to re-engage with work and family.
Sunday, March 1: Return to the US!
Thanks for your prayers!
