This morning we received an email report from the team in Ecuador. Marilyn Fretz wrote:
Hello dear praying family and friends!
Greetings and love from the Ecuador team. We are all doing well and feel so blessed to be here working with God for His glory!
The Lord is "bringing in the sheaves" and helping us to disciple the new believers in Jesus. Everyone is doing a great job and seems to be enjoying every part of each day.
This is "hump" day (when the team really starts to feel tired and sometimes out-of-sorts), so please lift each of us up to continue with joy and love in our hearts for each other and those we've come to serve.
Also, a BIG NEED is for nationals to be going out with us each day. Please pray hard for this request--without them, we cannot go out to evangelize and disciple the new believers.
Thank you all so much for partnering with us in prayer! In our weakness, we claim God's strength!
For the team,
Marilyn
As she mentioned, today is typically the most difficult day of the trip... from my experience with numerous teams I have seen the lack of sleep, cultural pressure, spiritual intensity and even homesickness begin to take their toll.
On the trip prayer cards we are encouraged to pray on this day for "endurance and unity". In addition to the requests made in Marilyn's note, would you join me in praying right now for these things for each team member by name? You can scroll down to see a team picture and a list of names in a previous post.
Thank you for faithfully partnering with this team through your prayers!
Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 15:5-6)
