Whew! I am a bit weary after the last few weeks, and very thankful that God arranged things so I would spend the past few days digging into scriptures that address the second Advent, the "Blessed Hope", as Paul called it... the "appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ" (Titus 2:13)
I've had ample opportunity to reflect on the truth of Romans 8:18 - 25, especially v 23 which reads in part "...even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body." From reports of cancer, brain tumors, surgery, accidents, and other hospitalizations to the fracturing of marriage relationships, heartache over wayward kids, and severe struggles with doubt, it has been a season of vivid reminders that this is indeed a land of sorrows, struggle, and heartache.
I look forward to sharing more on the hope we have, despite our current situation, this coming Sunday. In the meantime, I'll try and post some of the notes and scripture references that I won't have time to share in my message.
Love Wins, But Not At the Expense of Truth
